Meet Leah

Leah Stuckey grew up in Joetown, and Iowa City until she was 8. Her family moved to Somerset, MI where she finished school. She is a graduate of Hesston and Goshen Colleges, as well as a Culinary graduate from Le Cordon Bleu, London, England where she specialized in pastry, sugar designs, and chocolate.

“I have been cooking for most of my life. It was my first official job when I was 14 in Michigan. It supported me all thru high school and college. I’ll always be thankful for ‘mom and pop’ places I got to work at while growing up. It was them who really let me experiment!”

After living in London for a few years, Leah settled at Langdon Hall, a country house & spa in Cambridge, Ontario where she was the interem pastry chef at their Five-Diamond dining experience.

“It was a great place to be tested and experience things I’ve only dreamed of. Having no department budget, cooking for royalty and celebrities. Pushing myself to learn in every direction. Absorbing as much of the talent around me. I took tons of information to Chicago when I was given the opportunity to build a Pastry/Bakery Department from the ground up at Park Plaza. After fulfilling all my goals there, I looked towards the future and finally gave in to a friend's request to come work with him at The Chopping Block Culinary School. It has turned out to be the best opportunity and I love teaching at the Chopping Block. Everyday I do something new. That is the beauty and creativity of cooking."
